The Boaz Ministry

Philippines, 2014 - Ongoing

Our Boaz Ministry started as an assortment of one-off projects carried out in the Philippines since 2014, when we were volunteering to help the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

We had a small team on the ground rebuilding severely damaged and destroyed houses at that time. It was at this point the Lord allowed Jerry to feel a sense of deep love for the nation of the Philippines and its people, and thus called him to serve here as well.

In more recent years (2020), with the help and partnership of a local Christian church, we have been able to establish a small but highly impactful Ministry in the province of Batangas, a poor rural area which is constantly affected by dry and harsh weather patterns and active volcanic activities.

At present, we are sowing resources and food into this area, through our Boaz outreach program, and within this program we focus on aiding three categories of people who are in extreme need:

1) Young widows with babies and toddlers who have lost their husbands through death.

2) Abandoned young mothers with small babies and toddlers.

3) Poor families with disabled or mentally impaired children and/or teens.

This outreach program covers the provision of food, daily needs, baby milk, nappies and school supplies to these marginalized people.

We are blessed to be working with the Sanctuary International Church, who is responsible for the delivery of these supplies, and is accountable to Jabez Ministries.

James 1:27 NIV

27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
