Jabez Scholarship Program

Bali, 2022 - Ongoing

Our Scholarship Program was initiated due to the need of Hendrik, a teenage boy who lived at an orphanage in East Bali, one of our outreach sites within the island.

Hendrik shared with Jerry his desire to study and his calling to one day serve the Lord as a missionary or a pastor. He was keen in learning more about Jerry, Jabez Ministries, and how the LORD radically and personally changed Jerry’s life, and in return Jerry himself sensed deeply how the boy has a heart to learn and serve others.

And so after bringing this to the LORD through prayer to seek HIS counsel, our mighty GOD opened a door to share with another person about Hendrik’s situation, and by HIS grace, this person agreed to sponsor Hendrik for an annual Youth With A Mission course and outreach on another site in Indonesia. This was the beginning of our Scholarship Program. Ever since then, we have had a candidate every year. All the applicants are from our other ministry projects or partnerships.

To date, we have had four teenagers enrolled into the program: two boys and two girls from Sumba and Bali. These teenagers are able to choose further education at a university, theological institute, Youth With A Mission course, or to dive into a micro-enterprise business.
